Fundamental analysis studies the economic, political and social factors that affect the value of a currency, such as interest rates, inflation or employment. It seeks to determine the real value of an asset beyond the chart.
Why it matters: the major Forex trends usually have a fundamental cause. Combining fundamental analysis with technical analysis offers a more complete view of the market.
