Installing an Expert Advisor (robot) in MetaTrader 4 is simple if you follow the right steps. In this guide we explain how to load your robot, activate it and leave it trading automatically in a few minutes.

Steps to install the robot

• Open MetaTrader 4 and go to the File menu and then to Open Data Folder.
• Enter the MQL4 folder and then the Experts folder.
• Copy the robot file (.mq4 or .ex4) into that Experts folder.
• Close and reopen MetaTrader 4, or right click on Expert Advisors and press Refresh.
• Drag the robot from the Navigator onto the chart of the pair you want to trade.
